Approach

Start with a problem worth solving.

Transformation does not begin with a programme. It begins with a question, a decision, or a challenge that leadership needs to address. The first objective is not to design a transformation. It is to understand the situation, establish the facts, and identify what will create the greatest value. Four stages, adapted to every engagement.

The method

  1. 01

    Understand

Establish the reality of the current situation.

Through interviews, evidence, and analysis, develop a clear understanding of the organisation's objectives, strengths, constraints, dependencies, and risks. Nothing is changed and nothing is promised during this step — the purpose is to establish a position the sponsor can defend in front of the executive committee.

    What you are left holding

    • Current-state assessment
    • Key risks, assumptions, and dependencies
    • Shared view of priorities and decision points
  2. 02

    Align

Create clarity around direction and decision-making.

Translate findings into practical options, trade-offs, and recommendations. The objective is to enable leadership teams to make informed decisions with confidence and establish the governance needed to support execution.

    What you are left holding

    • Strategic options and recommendations
    • Governance and decision framework
    • Executive narrative and alignment
  3. 03

    Deliver

    Turn decisions into visible progress.

Support the mobilisation of teams, governance, roadmaps, and transformation activities. Priority is given to initiatives that create early momentum while establishing the foundations for sustainable delivery.

    What you are left holding

    • Transformation roadmap
    • Governance cadence and accountability
    • Initial deliveries and measurable progress
  4. 04

    Sustain

Leave the organisation stronger than before.

Every engagement is designed with a defined outcome, a clear timeframe, and an eventual handover. The objective is not dependency on external advisors but stronger internal capability, governance, and leadership.

    What you are left holding

    • Embedded operating rhythm
    • Clear ownership and accountability
    • Capabilities and practices that remain after the engagement ends

Engagement models

Flexible engagement, tailored to the challenge.

Support can range from a focused assessment to a multi-month transformation programme or an ongoing executive advisory relationship.

  • Strategic Assessment

A focused intervention providing an independent perspective on a critical decision, programme, capability, or operating model.

Suited to boards and incoming executives who need an independent read before a funding or scope decision.

  • Advisory Engagement

Direct support to executive teams, CIOs, or transformation leaders to shape strategy, strengthen governance, and accelerate outcomes.

Suited to organisations setting direction, rebuilding an operating model, or standing up a transformation properly.

  • Transformation Leadership

Hands-on leadership and support for complex initiatives, operating model redesign, enterprise applications, ERP programmes, or organisational transformation.

Suited to organisations undertaking business-critical transformations that require experienced leadership, stronger governance, and accelerated execution.

  • Recovery & Acceleration

Targeted intervention to restore momentum, clarify direction, and rebuild confidence in initiatives that have lost pace.

Suited to organisations where complexity, uncertainty, or stalled decision-making are putting strategic objectives at risk.

What clients can expect

Six commitments I hold to.

These are the positions I will not trade away to win work. Stating them here means a client can hold me to them.

  • Evidence before opinion

Recommendations are grounded in facts, data, and observable realities — not in assertion or in a preferred methodology.

  • Clarity before activity

Moving faster in the wrong direction is not progress. Decisions come before mobilisation, and ambiguity is resolved before teams are asked to deliver against it.

  • Outcomes over deliverables

Success is measured by business results, not by reports or presentations. A deck that changes nothing is not an outcome.

  • Strengthen, don't replace

The objective is to strengthen existing teams and capabilities, not to create reliance on external support.

  • Independent advice

Recommendations are driven by the best interests of the client, not by technology vendors, implementation partners, or predefined methodologies.

  • Designed to end

Every engagement should achieve its purpose within an agreed timeframe and leave the organisation better equipped to move forward independently.

Let's start with the real question

Start with the diagnosis.

A focused conversation often brings more clarity than weeks of internal debate. Whether you are shaping a strategy, assessing a programme, recovering momentum, or preparing a critical decision, the first step is understanding where things truly stand and what needs to happen next.
