Audit & Recommendations

An honest read of where you stand.

Who this is for

For boards, sponsors and incoming executives who need an independent read before committing to a direction.

VITA Technology Advisory provides an independent assessment of scope, risk and capability, closing with recommendations and an implementation roadmap — not a list of concerns.

01

Audit Scope

The scope is agreed in writing before the work starts and is deliberately narrow. A broad audit produces a broad report, and a broad report produces no decisions. VITA scopes to the questions the sponsor actually needs answered — typically between three and six — and refuses the ones that cannot be answered honestly within the time available.

02

Key Findings

Findings are stated plainly, evidenced, and separated from interpretation so the reader can disagree with the conclusion without disputing the facts.

  1. Evidenced, not asserted

Every finding carries its source: documents, data, or attributed interviews.

  2. Separated from opinion

What is observed and what is concluded appear in different sections, deliberately.

  3. Reviewed before circulation

Factual accuracy is confirmed with named owners before the report goes to the sponsor.

03

Risk Assessment

Risks are assessed on likelihood, impact and — critically — whether the organisation currently has the capacity to respond.

  • Delivery risk

Whether the committed scope can be delivered by the committed date with the available capability.

  • Dependency risk

Exposure to decisions, systems or suppliers outside the sponsor's control.

  • Capability risk

Whether the skills the plan assumes actually exist, internally or under contract.

  • Governance risk

Whether decisions can be taken at the pace the plan requires.

04

Recommendations

Each recommendation names an owner, a horizon and the decision it requires. Recommendations without an owner are not included.

  1. Ranked by consequence

Ordered by what changes if the recommendation is not taken, not by ease of implementation.

  2. Costed where possible

Indicative effort and cost, with the assumptions stated so they can be challenged.

  3. Explicit about trade-offs

What is given up by following each recommendation, stated in the recommendation itself.

05

Implementation Roadmap

The audit closes with a route forward, because a report that stops at findings transfers the hardest work back to the reader.

  1. Immediate

Actions that should not wait for a governance cycle, with named owners.

  2. Next quarter

Structural changes requiring funding or a formal decision.

  3. Beyond

Items dependent on decisions not yet taken, held explicitly rather than dropped.

06

Expected Benefits

Stated as ranges with assumptions, not as single figures. Precision the evidence cannot support is not a benefit.
